Welcome to Longmont/Niwot
Experience the best of small-town life.
Longmont and Niwot, both located in Boulder County, are approximately six miles from each other. Both up-and-coming communities, these towns are affordable, active, and diverse communities to call home. Longmont, in particular, is known for its thriving tech scene, walkable downtown, and rich history. Meanwhile, Niwot is celebrated for its exciting festivals, excellent schools, and convenient location.
The history of Longmont stretches back 150 years ago. In 1870, a group of individuals moved from Chicago to Colorado to begin a new colony. Interestingly, the city’s founders sold memberships to the new city, which covered the cost of 60,000 acres in northern Colorado. Niwot, on the other hand, was platted in 1875. This was two years after the Colorado Central Railroad extended its tracks northeast of Boulder. This prompted further growth as people could more easily access the area.
A variety of architectural styles can be found in these two charming mountain towns. Styles of homes include Craftsman, Four Square, Tudor Revival, Bungalow, and much more.
